Jewish Family Life
Jewish life and learning don't stop when you leave the synagogue. Here are some ideas for creating a Jewish environment for your family at home:
- Invite friends for Shabbat dinner
- Do havdalah on Saturday night
- Watch Jewish videos on BimBam
- Do Jewish crafts and cooking (check out challahcrumbs.com for some great ideas)
- Read books or listen to music from PJ Library
- Practice Hebrew reading with fun apps and games. Some of my favorite apps for iphone and Android are Unlimited Aleph Bet (from Behrman House), Hebrew Karaoke, iShema, and iShabbat. You can also check out Hebrew on Shalom Sesame and Hebrew prayer reading at Behrman House.
